Blizzard president Mike Ybarra has fired off a tweet revealing the global release times for Diablo 4, which is set to go live on June 6—unless you spring for one of the fancier editions.
The Diablo 4 product page on Battle.net indicates that the Digital Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Diablo 4 will give owners “up to 4 days early access” to the game. Down in the fine print, it clarifies that time is an estimated, and that “actual play time [is] subject to possible outages and applicable time zone differences.”
Ybarra had previously tweeted that Deluxe and Ultimate edition owners could start playing on June 2, but today he corrected that statement, saying that early access will begin at 4 pm PDT on June 1, which works out to 12 am on June 2 in Europe, and 8 am on June 2…
Read moreI can’t believe I’m saying it, but Bungie has done it again. After a turbulent year—one of delays, layoffs and assorted corporate grumbling—Bungie released the free Into the Light update for Destiny 2 and the players… they’re actually happy.
The response to the update has been almost universally positive. Onslaught, the new horde mode, is a hit—the only real complaint being that its hardest difficulty could stand to be a little more rewarding in its later waves. Otherwise players are merrily hunting away for the new collection of reissued weapons—all of which have been enhanced with some pretty spicy perk combinations. There’s more to come too—in fact, with today’s reset, both Midnight Coup and Mountaintop will be available, both all-timer weap…

Read moreIf warring dynasties, unending conflict, and English longbowmen weren’t bad enough, Artefacts Studio’s upcoming tactical RPG Crown Wars: The Black Prince paints an even darker interpretation of the Hundred Years’ War.
As revealed during a new trailer shown during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, Crown Wars looks to have injected a heavy dose of magical realism into England and France’s intergenerational Middle Ages conflict. Alongside the usual roaming bandits and men-at-arms, the trailer reveals a shadowy organisation known as The Order is using dark magic to turn the war to their favour.
In practice, that seems to mean performing sacrificial rituals and summoning up ancient powers that are perhaps best left undisturbed. Now that they are disturbed, thoug…
Read moreEvery year it gets tougher for me to differentiate from the bounty of new farm sims being developed, which usually range from pastoral to fantastical in various shades of green, but One Lonely Outpost is a rarer specimen: a sci-fi farm sim. Developers Freedom Games shared a new trailer for the extraterrestrial life sim during today’s Guerrilla Collective showcase, and it reminded me just how much of a sucker I am for space westerns.
One Lonely Outpost boasts all the usual farm and town sim features: crafting, fishing, cooking, mining, romance—oh, and terraforming, which is what really caught my attention. “Rise up and overcome unbreathable air, inedible food, unfertilized ground, and inaccessible water sources,” Freedom Games says. That is a siren song to a map-completionist…
Read moreAs PC players, we’ve had ample reason to gripe about the culture of console exclusivity for some time—these games are running on hardware that’s often a smidge outdated by the time it hits the shelves, yet we can’t get our grubby little mitts on them?
Granted, there’s plenty of reasons as to why a dev team would want to optimise something for a specific loadout—the PC’s breadth of potential compatibility issues are a complete nightmare, especially as games get bigger in scope.
PlayStation has been a particular pain point over the past few years, with some genuinely excellent games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, 2018’s God of War, and Insomniac’s Spider-Man taking their sweet time to mosey on over to Steam. Trends have continued with Rebirth, God of War: Ragna…
Read moreThere’s nothing quite like risking your own life along with all your friends for a couple of views and maybe even a follow. During my team’s many expeditions to the old world, we’ve figured out a winning formula for views: catchy intro, someone dying on camera, plenty of screaming, and if we have time and the sanity to record an outro alongside one of the monstrosities, then that’s an added bonus.
Usually, these clips go to waste, living out the rest of their lives in an untouched folder. But now, Content Warning’s publisher, Landfall, is starting a lost footage project, and it welcomes any player to send over their clips. It links a waiver and application form to fill out in a Twitter post for you to read and sign if you want to. Footage must be unedited, but you can …
